Business consulting that fixes what your last strategy deck ignored

Most leadership teams know their problems. They just disagree about the causes. We sit with you for two days, map the real friction, and build a 90-day plan you can actually follow. Based in Leeds, working across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Four steps, no mystery

We keep the process short because your team already has enough meetings. Each engagement follows the same structure, adjusted to your sector and scale.

1

Diagnostic interviews

We spend two days on-site interviewing your senior team, middle managers and a sample of frontline staff. These are confidential, one-to-one conversations lasting 40 minutes each. We record themes, not names.

2

Friction map

Within five working days you receive a visual map showing where decisions stall, where accountability gaps sit, and which assumptions your leadership team holds that contradict each other. Expect candour.

3

90-day action plan

We draft a plan with no more than seven priorities. Each priority has an owner, a deadline and a single metric. If a priority can't be measured, it doesn't make the list.

4

Monthly check-ins

For three months after handover we run a 60-minute video call with the leadership team. We review progress against the plan, adjust timelines and call out drift early. After month three, you decide whether to continue.

Services built around real problems

Strategy pressure-test

You already have a strategy document. We stress-test it against your market data, your team's capacity and your cash-flow timeline. The output is a revised plan with fewer goals and clearer ownership. Most clients finish this in two weeks.

Leadership alignment

When the board says one thing and the ops team hears another, execution suffers. We facilitate structured alignment sessions across two levels of management, surface the mismatches and broker agreements that stick. Typical engagement: four half-day sessions over six weeks.

Operational review

We audit your core workflows, supplier contracts and reporting cadence. The deliverable is a ranked list of cost-saving and speed-gain opportunities with estimated financial impact. Clients in manufacturing and logistics see the fastest payback, usually within one quarter.

Succession planning

Founder-led firms often delay this conversation until it becomes urgent. We map your leadership bench, identify skill gaps and build a 12-month development track for two or three potential successors. The work includes confidential coaching sessions with each candidate.

Board advisory retainer

For firms that want ongoing counsel without hiring a full-time strategy director, we attend your quarterly board meetings, review papers in advance and provide a written brief with recommendations. Retainer clients also get priority access for ad-hoc calls.

Numbers our clients agreed to share

We asked permission to publish these figures. Each comes from a different engagement completed between 2023 and 2025.

Senior consultant at Leadership Consulting Co.

Small firm, specific focus

We are a four-person consulting practice based in Leeds. Our backgrounds span operations management, organisational psychology and financial planning. Between us we have worked inside FTSE-250 companies, NHS trusts and family-owned manufacturers.

What we don't do matters as much as what we do. We don't run large-scale IT implementations, we don't design marketing campaigns, and we don't offer generic training workshops. Every engagement starts with a diagnostic because prescribing solutions before understanding the problem is a waste of your budget.

Our office is at 52 Old Lane, Leeds LS1 4AP, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Clients visit for the initial briefing; after that, most of the work happens at your site.

Things people ask before signing

The two-day diagnostic, including the friction map and 90-day plan, is a fixed fee of £4,800 plus VAT. Travel within West Yorkshire is included. For sites outside the region we add actual travel costs at the time of booking.

Yes. About a third of our clients are based elsewhere in England. Diagnostic interviews need to be face-to-face, so we travel to you. Monthly check-ins happen over video regardless of location.

Most of our clients have between 40 and 500 employees. Below that size, the leadership dynamics are usually simple enough that a few coaching sessions solve the issue. Above 500, you probably need a larger consultancy with sector-specific teams.

We prefer to start with the diagnostic because it tells us where to focus. Jumping straight to, say, succession planning without understanding the broader leadership picture often means we solve the wrong problem. That said, if you have recent third-party assessment data we can review it and skip the interviews.

That is exactly what the monthly check-ins are for. If a priority is stalling, we dig into why during the call and adjust the plan on the spot. Plans that never change are plans that were never tested. We expect at least two of the seven priorities to shift during the 90 days.
